Welcome to Utah Tour Doctor's personal web pages. I initially started this website and blog during my sabbatical in fall 2009. After 18 years of teaching and researching non-stop at the University of Utah, I finally took some time to guest lecture at several universities in Texas, Hawaii, and China. The website has evolved as a showcase of several topics of interest to my students, alumni, professionals, and the general public. Some of the travel advice might be helpful for those interested in visiting some of the locations I have previously visited.
Who is the Utah Tour Doctor?

Linda Ralston at Zhangjiejia Nat'l Park in China.
Several of my students have called me the TourDoctor, so I thought I would use this for my blog. I teach at the University of Utah in the Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism. Although I have taught many courses within the overall curriculum, I specialize in travel and tourism. This is a photo taken during a trip to Zhangjiejia National Park in Hunan Province (China). I love to travel and look forward to returning to China this fall to meet with my friends and partner universities in Shanghai, Huangshan Mountain, Xian, Hunan, and Zhejiang Provinces. If you wish to learn more about who I am and what I do please check out my web pages within the Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism web site ( http://www.health.utah.edu/prt/ ) . They are currently being updated so check them out and explore the wide variety of activities I enjoy.
